No - you should get some great colour - the weather today is pretty wintry and I would think in about a week will be good.

The festival in Wanaka is not til later this month as well.

To be honest the timing of best autumn colours won't be that different between Otago and Canterbury. So whatever is happening in say Hagley Park will probably indicate the stage that Central Otago is at (although it is more poplars and willows in Central).
