Another week in the life of this farce we call selling houses and I'm just clinging onto the last bit of rope with my teeth. It's been a helluva week of long debates, ultimatums and missed deadlines and we still haven't exchanged contracts.

This time last week we were all doing fine apparently all contracts we're being signed and returned for exchange, we had already delayed signing a 6 month lease on a flat because of various excuses from all parties. Consequently a last minute call at 5pm last Friday got us a weeks reprieve with signing the lease, and a final deadline was issued for tomorrow - so if we don't sign tomorrow goodbye flat and this whole move falls flat on it's face. I've been putting the pressure on all week, with the ultimatum that contracts must be signed by Wednesday, knowing there would be some delays but ever hopeful that it would all be done in time for us to sign lease tomorrow.

I was assured contracts we're all due to be signed and in on Monday - except some idiot forgot to sign one form. So we move on to Tuesday - nothing happens. Wednesday morning the Estate Agent's assure me all is going ahead - Wednesday afternoon it's not because they're still awaiting one contract to be signed and a deposit. So today was the day, all was definitely going ahead. I then get a call this morning from Estate Agents, that there has been a death in the family of our buyer's buyer and he has had to rush off to Bognor Regis, so won't be able to get the contract and deposit back until Monday. Ohh I do NOT believe it - it's all of a two hour drive to flaming Bognor, I think it's just another delaying tactic. If this guy wanted this all to go through I'm sure he'd have got himself to the solicitors come hell or high water. I've felt sick all day and the thought of waiting all weekend, just to have this all fall through is going to make my head explode.

The packers are due here on Tuesday, the only day we could get prior to Xmas, we simply have to sign this lease tomorrow and go ahead with the move regardless. Our medicals are booked for Monday - if we manage to live that long? It's a complete mess - well it was up until 7.30pm when we get a call from our buyer saying the chap is coming back from Bognor tomorrow afternoon to sign his contract. So we're back on the loop the loop for now. Roll up roll up, free rides on Lil's rollercoaster.

This is going to be my goodbye post for a while, our beloved broadbad will be chopped tomorrow due to a cockup by BT, and we have to wait at least 10 days for re-connection at the new place. It'll be back to good old dial up and then once the packers come on Tuesday it'll be down to "sharing" the laptop with the other half. For "share" read: Lil won't get a look in and I'll be reduced to making sneaky posts from work and I won't even be there for most of next week

My lists of things to do are gradually diminishing and I can't wait to sit down for a whole 24 hours on that plane on Xmas day, we'll be back in the New Year, hopefully with a job offer in hand for one of us.

I need your cyber intervention for tomorrow, so please join me in a prayer to God, Allah, Buddha and anyone else who wants to listen! :exit
