Is military camp school are good or bad school to send my (non-military) children to? or is I am better off to travel 6km to nearer state school in next town?
Just may found ideal house but nearer school is in military camp, that are open to local community too. I am just concern as military children don't stay very long in camp so I am wondering what their education is like compare with state school?
Thanks

Military camp school sounds perfect for dd2. Think it would be worth moving just to be near it! Tell me more!!

The reason I asked if it was Burnham was that I've heard mention of it. Mainly from a lady in the village whose eldest - who is now 15 - was at Burnham before they moved. They don't have anything good to say about it, and their daughter is now living at home and looking after her 1 yr old of a fellow Burnham boy :laugh... and doing better at Darfield by all accounts....

They're at Darfield High now, reputed to be a good school but as I have no kids I have no experience.

You should investigate Burnham further though, you never know, it may be a great school.

Always got an eye on the ads ;) - we'll know it when we see it. We've seen a few but we can't have liked them THAT much as we didn't fly in to action to sell this place... hard to beat this place for us... but we still want to be even more rural.

We're off to Wanaka next weekend so I might have to go and see the strawbale showhome from the link you posted. :nice1

Oh yes, it is lovely inside. Just remember it is expensive because it is akaroa area! All other houses in akaroa is expensive too.

Actually I was thinking how reasonable that was for what, and where, it is. Akaroa is very expensive, but gorgeous.

I don't know Akaroa, so I was just thinking the actual house seemed alot. Where is akaroa?

Akaroa is on Banks Peninsula - just south of Christchurch. It takes about an hour or so from Chch to drive there over the hills. Was a French colony, and still retains French road names and local villages like Duvachelle etc.

It's a stunning place with a micro-climate that allows olives, lavender, lemons - some say it's like a little bit of Provence in NZ :yes

Oh yes - I remember it from the video I watched before I came - it looked lovely. Now I get why the house costs that.
