Well he's finally gone and left us! Flew down to Welly at lunchtime today.

So he's gets 3 meals a day cooked for him, free use of a pool & gym, his own bed, and a full 8 wks of uninteruppted sleep!! I get 2 adorable but tiring children from 6am-7pm, meals if I can be bothered to cook after doin kids, excersise chasing Ella all day and def NO CHANCE of a full nights sleep! I wonder who has the better deal :confused: :confused:

I will have to forget my worries about driving and poss gettin lost (big worry) and get myself out & about. I already have half a dozen people I could tx and see if they are around but sadly I still have some of my inbred UK 'Idont wanna be a nusiance' attitude, time to get rid ;)

I move into our house on 7th May, expect furniture soon after and have decided to start work on 21st May, will be ready to escape the kids by then Im sure :laugh

So any other wifes/partners who have found themselves in a similar situation, advice on how to speed up time is welcome!

Don't worry - you'll do it and you'll wonder why you ever worried in the first place. I used to be married to a merchant navy officer and he was away for months at a time. Here's a tip- don't cross off the days till OH comes back. Switch to DIY mode and get stuck in. You'll be in regular phone contact obviously but you'll have to get used to making your own decisions. It'll be great. The kids will take it in their stride and you should find that having little ones will give you the chance to meet other people with young children and it'll all flow from there. Try and lose the 'I don't want to be a nuisance' attitude (so much easier said than done!!!) and talk to everyone you meet.
And keep the TV remote control handy!

The pain will be over soon, try not to think of the time away from Dan as bad, look at the positive side, you now get the whole bed to yourself.

lol

Keep your chin up and look forward to the new life down under,

:D

Hey Amanda,

{{{{BIG HUG}}}

I'll be thinking of you over the next few weeks - which I'm sure will fly by. Sam had to travel up to Edinburgh Mon-Fri before we all moved up here 3 years ago. It was weird at first but you just have to get on with it. It was actually a lot easier for me as I was at home - he was the one who suffered. He was in a hotel, on his own and missing us. Neither of us particularly likes being away from each other but we coped. You just do!

Speak to you soon.

Paula

Yep, that's the plan. We've got our settlement interview Monday at 10.00. Will let you know how we get on.

Busy doing lots of cleaning of gardening stuff etc. (at least we've had the weather for it). Kids are back at school as well so should be easier to get things done this week. :)
