We are moving to Auckland from the US Bay Area (west coast). I'm trying to arrange shipping for our household goods. Reefers, or non-operating refrigerated containers, sound like they fit our do-it-yourself style and price range. Has anyone tried this from the US to NZ recently? Can you tell me which shipping company you used? Roughly how much did it cost?

I found some excellent postings on this topic on the boards here, but most seem to be well over a year old or from UK origins. Can anyone advise?

Hi there,

I shipped my stuff from Nebraska. I don't remember who I used originally, but it ended up with Global Ocean Freight. They seem to do pretty well, at least nothing was broken. You might try them. I'm positive that have offices in California.
