Hi everyone OH here
we left uk 10.00am mon (16th)morning and arrived at our new temp 3 weeks accomodation midnight tues in herne bay/ponsonby region (auckland)
been busy setting up new bank account/po box/looking for rental place/car hire-lots to do !!
managed to set up a broadband account (whoosh 5meg NZ$ 39.95/mth- wireless modem so dont need telephone line so handy when in short term rental)
had a long drive with our relocation exec looking at all areas of auckland - nice lunch in st heliers looking at the beach in bright sunshine - nice ( i think this could be the place for the next six months before we try to buy...)
having interview with recruitment agency tomorrow (fri) so fingers crossed ( i definitely need a job-not cheap in auckland if want to live somewhere half decent)
sarah asleep at 8.00pm as jet lag still affecting (+ being wken up at half three in morning by cockroach didnt help...aargghh)
bye all !!
greg+sarah+(but not whisky arrives 12 may..)

thanks both!
it does help a lot if got a job to go to so can put a bit of (gentle) pressure on nz immigration in uk (and all copies of relevant documents ready)
good luck - it can be done
whisky would love to meet pepper i'm sure-cant believe cost of dog licence per annum nz$ 131 + lots of restrictions re beach etc - not cheap to bring a dog and to keep it legally !! (but still cant wait to see him !)

st heliers, mission bay, kohimarama, glendowie, all good, not cheap but you can find something fairly reasonable, all pretty close to CDB. parnell very close but expensive. Ponsonby grey lynn and point chev, also very good areas, less costly, more funky.
