Went to immigration in Hamilton today to pick up our WTR visa's :raebanana and overheard the immigration officer saying that visa processing times were approx 63 days.....as they had that many applications to get through.

think that varies from area to area as its possible to get one in a couple of days in Christchurch. theres only a few of us down here, not like the multitudes up there.

I was quoted one to two months in auckland. It actually took just over two months. Everyone was very helpful though, and I think mine took a bit longer than others because of the fact that I can't supply my original birth certificate, had to get a notarized letter to say I am who I say I am!

I was also told by immigration in Auckland that it could be up to 60 days to process my work permit. It actually came back in just under 3 weeks.
I did pester them a bit and there is a fax number they will give you if you want to request them to treat it ugently. I did this but I couldn't honestly say whether it made any difference.
I've got a residence application in now and I'm curious as to how long people think that may take

Hi I am in Christchurch and so far I am still waiting, it has been a week so far. Their letter stated 60 days but I am seriously hoping it will not be much longer. I was told but our agent in the UK it should take 2-3 days. Is this average time in Christchurch or do you reckon there is a backlong a the moment?

Until about 10 weeks ago 1-3 days was normal in Wellington, but recently they have joined the trend in NZ Immigration offices by having a 1-2 month turnaround time. So, unfortunately, it is possible that Christchurch is also 'joining the club'.
