Our daughter is a young guides leader and she is quite keen to set up a group of 'Rainbows' when she arrives in NZ. Are Rainbows / Brownies / Guides very popular in New Zealand?

Well not that I have kids in that age group, but they were advertising for leaders on TV the other week for Guides, and they were all selling Guide buscuits the other week too - although they were banned from some schools - they were full of sugar! (well YEAH they are buscuits! Durrr??)

I also was guide leader in UK, I have not yet join in New Zealand's because of circumstance involved my youngest child and third baby on the way...however I have spoken to local guide leader, like UK, NZ guides always in shortage of leaders! So your daughter will be great help to them, also I have notice that guides is in large town/city...not too sure on remote areas. Uniform, is interesting, rainbow wear 'apron' same as UK, but brownies, guides, ranger and adult leader wear same uniform!!!!! Only tell them apart is sash for brownies and guides (maybe different colour??) and necker for ranger.
I know when she join in Girl Guide New Zealand (that they called it!) she will be asked in fill in form in UK to take with her to confirm her warrant etc. My paperwork is still in UK and i am not in hurry to get it for another 1 years till my youngest baby turn 1.
If your daughter wish to get in touch me and exchange informations, that would be nice :nice1
Hope she had very nice leaving party from her unit as I did had one, lovely!
