does anybody know if u have to submit job offer while u submit applicaiton under sibling category ? i live in canada and my brother is eligible to sponcer me it takes around 6 to 9 months for u to have case officer assigned. wud it be possible to submit application with all relevant docs except job offer and move to nz to find job while case officer has been assiggned ?

My brother also wants to move out, and I'd love to sponsor him. However, I had be told my brother had to have a job offer before he could apply, therefore I'd assume that offer would need to be sent in with the application?

Once I've sponsored my parents next year (fingers crossed) I believe my brother can have "any" job offer, whereas if he came on sibling sponsorship he would need a job in a shortage area?

It's about as confuddling as the parents sponsorship!

moorf - once you've sponsored your parents your brother can come over on sibling sponsorship - he needs a job offer but not in a shortage area (not even classed as skilled actually)

until you have sponsored your parents he is not eligible for sibling sponsorship at all - regardless of job offer.

bill - your best bet is probably to ask NZIS but my guess would be he'd need an offer to apply. can he not come over, get a job on a work permit and then apply for sibling sponsorship afterwards?
