Does anyone have an idea about storage unit costs in either the Auckland or CC area? I am trying to decide if we leave our stuff in the states and move it over when we have a permanent place or store some of it in NZ while we rent. It is likely that we will rent an apartment or small house, and we have lots of stuff, enough to fill a 3800 sq ft house.

Any ideas on costs for temporary storage?

We stored a 20ft container load in an over sized storage facility (6m X3mX3m) for NZ$245/mth in Auckland!

Guess we should go into the storage business or rent another apartment for those prices! I figured it would be pretty expensive given the prices we saw in Australia. Thanks for the information,

When we were waiting for our house to be built we rented a house much larger than we needed and stacked the spare furniture up in the spare rooms. it worked well, and we only needed to do one move instead of one from the house and one from the storage unit.
