I'm terrible I forgot to say hello on the introductions, sorry :laugh
So here's hello from Rome, we're hoping to be in NZ by Xmas, I'm a Kiwi my husband's Italian and we're hoping for a better life for us and our 3 year old in NZ.
I've been away for 20 years so I'm very nervous about the move especially when you see the incomes so low and the house buying so costly.
Over here my husband works two jobs and I have a very hard time finding work so I freelance teaching English. In that way I've been able to dedicate time to my son these past three years.
Total monthly income is €2,300
rent is cheap as we live an an absolute dump at €420 monthly
car repayments €250 monthly
public pre-school €43 monthly (The school has 2 teachers for 25 childern between 3-5)
groceries monthly on essentials no big spending around €600
phone bill including internet (we hardly use the phone use internet for phoning) is €66 every two mths
Annually car insurance is €1300
rubbish €100 annually
Sky €38 mth
Electricity 150 every two mths
gas 35 every two mths however we've saved so much on gas and electricity as we've got a wood burner so that's why we've saved.
over the Winter we spent €450 in wood. That would be from Nov to March.
There are of course other expenses that I can remember right now. But anyway yes the petrol here is expensive I think we spend aroun €60 a month but we never go out or anything always at home and quite frankly I wouldn't even mind this if we lived in a nice home but it's awful falling down around our ears and we have been stuck in this situation as here it would be so expensive to move.
In Italy the average wage is €1,100 monthly and statistics show that it has the lowest wages in Europe.
Looking at my husbands wage thing half of his wages is taken out in taxes. So he's left with €1,600 gross being around €3,000.
Anyway that's a rough idea of our expenses and I would love to know what the breakdown of expenses are in NZ in comparison. :)
Feel free to PM me if you don't want to publicly announce anything.
Anyway Hello to you all and apologies for being so rude and not introducing myself earlier, :D
