OH and I were thinking about applying under the skilled migrants category but quite a few people have suggested we go down the route of family sponsorship. After reading everything I'm quite confused.

My situation is - Dad in New Zealand (nearly 15 years)
2 half sisters in New Zealand
1 half brother in London but NZ resident
1 half brother in Slovakia
1 brother in Cardiff
Do I need to take other family members ie Aunts/Uncles/Cousins into account.

If there is anyone out there who has gone down this route, could you help!!!

Sara:confused:

to get sibling or adult child sponsorship you need to have no other family left in the country you are coming from. the brother in cardiff means you can't go down this route.

you could apply under the family quota ballot but its exactly that - a ballot - and they drew no one at all this year.

if you can apply as skilled migrant that would seem to be your best move?

Actually, I'm not sure that is right (note to check again though).
I believe it is still centre of gravity, IE at least as many in NZ.

I am not 100% though

Here is the link to the relevant page. its centre of gravity for parents. no other immediate family for siblings and adult children.
