Approved! And I didn't need an interview like it seemed I would (one less thing to worry about)

Thanks so much for the advice and support in here. Really great bunch of people. I'm sure I'll have more questions soon ... :yes

Ok, time to get the drink on!

Wow, congrats! Could you remind us when you sent in your ITA? And do you have job offer, etc? Are you lodged under Skilled Migrant Category?

I'm trying to gauge how long it will take my application to get to the top of the stack. Yesterday the London site said applications lodged up to Feb. 6 were being allocated to case officers for the week ending April 20. Looks like they may be catching up on some of their backlog.

Again, congrats!

Thanks everyone for the kind bananas. :D

Yes I'm on the skilled migrant path, and I submitted my ITA about a month ago, and no I don't have a NZ job offer. I didn't go through London office, but through Wellington since I'm already here. From what I have been reading, sounded like Wellington was making their way through the applications quickly. It's possible that they give priority to skilled migrants that are already here - not sure.

I'm still confused about when a case officer is assigned. I never received a letter stating when one would be assigned, so perhaps I was lucky enough to have one from day 1.

Best of luck to you and your application going through soon. :clap

Thanks!

Actually I've already thought of a followup question. I take it the two year RRV clock starts only once the stickers are in the passport? I'd like to get that clock going asap. Unfortunately, my passport is expiring soonish, and there are crazy long waits for renewals at this point. Sounds like it will be worth sending passport in now, and eating the $50-60 fee to later have them put in the new passport 3-4 months from now.

Also, noticed that the letter states that I have to keep them informed about any changes, such as address etc, or risk having status revoked. Not really a problem, but a bit of a hassle. Sounds a little-bit homeland security-ish. :laugh

Thanks again :) By the way, it's supposedly a 3 week wait for the blue sticker once you've sent the money and passport. (hmm, they waiting for cheque to clear? ...)

@ maheshpandit10, i applied under skilled migrant category.
