Trying to transfer funds out of the US without paying penalties....Are there such things as Anuities in NZ?

You can but anuities but I wouldn't recommend it as the rates are too variable. I am assuming you are trying to transfer pension/superan funds and if so look for a qualifying NZ scheme into which you can transfer your funds. Some flexible funds allow you to access all your capital after a qualifying period of 6-12 months so you are not tied to fixed anuity rates at the time of purchase! My advice ......talk to an independent financial advisor!
