otaki 330000 282000
pukerua 374000 320000

im sure there is a clever link to all this (or a nice spreadsheet type layout...)
above can vary a lot as they are average house prices
the paper also gives a breakdown of auckland per suburb
these vary from
manurewa 295000 272750
eastern suburbs750000 665000

as you can see in auckland can have very similar prices to average uk location (but with better views or much nearer sea!)

if you want a specific auckland suburb contact me (OH)

Just read some of your link, I certainly hope they don't go for higher density housing, as someone commented before, some of the houses here are so close you can pass a cup of sugar to you neighbour through the window!

I stayed in a house in Sumner where the kitchen was overlooked by someone's lounge, the lounge was overlooked by someone's kitchen (on the first floor so they had a really good view!) and the main bedroom could be viewed by somone else from their kitchen! :o In fact the only place you were safe was the toilet.

Cheers

Tia

Only the first line of what Whiskey quoted was relating to Auckland. The others are figures from all over the country. She did offer to provide extra info in relation to Auckland, possibly as it is so large and densely populated in relation to the rest of the country that the prices can vary dramatically from suburb to suburb. (As I'm sure they do in Wellington, Christchurch and any other city.)

A good site for anyone considering buying property in NZ is QV (Quotable Value). You can see information , demographics and property values on house sales in the areas you are interested in, Although some reports cost money to order through this site, there is alot of free information there too. Click on "Buying a Property".
https://www.qv.co.nz/buyingaproperty/

sorry cant do anything about those property prices, but this might help in finding areas you can afford and would like to live!

MY APPOLOGIES - should have put NORTH ISLAND THEN!

;) Kat

PS and the quote in the NZ herald telling aucklanders to come to Southland to get their foot on the property ladder didnt go down well either - Radio hosts had a field day with that headline!!:laugh

hi again
i took the data from the newspaper (deliberately didnt list the other 15 auckland suburbs)
ive only been here a week so the place names are not familiar to me
i am sorry if they all relate to the north island ! methinks NZ herald is biased too!
(ps OH doing posting !)
