:raebanana Well here we are. Arrived in Auckland today, flew on to Rotorua where we were picked up by my son and brought on down to Mt Maunganui where will be staying for a week or so until we move to Taupo.
Absolutely shattered. What a long 26 hours or so just sitting in a plane waiting to arrive! Have had a few glasses of wine which perhaps isn't advisable when so tired but it's been such a long wait and now here we are.
I think the next move will be to bed even if it is only 8.20 but after all the emotion and travelling it's the only thing I can manage.
Night night for now, I'm sure there will be a few questions to ask you all in the next few days, but in the mean time it's great to be here.... I think!

Hello again, well 2 and half weeks in and not too bad. Had a few moments when I haven't been entirely sure we've done the right thing but on the whole thing are good. I think the down moments have come when I realise that at this moment in time we own nothing!! (Not entirely true as we have bought a car) Bur no job no house. We are living with Kevins sister and family, they are making us completely welcome but there is nothing like you're own place is there? We have been looking at houses in the agents windows & handouts but are getting completely bamboozled with it all. Must go in and talk to some agents soon and get some serious hunting done. We also don't know whether to get a job first or a house, as it looks as if we may need to get a small mortgage after all.The prices have risen so much in the last couple of years and we have found that if we pay another 30-50k more it will take us into another bracket. So much to think about, but I'm trying my best to think positive. Not too hard as the weather has been incredible and Taupo is beautiful.
What a strange experience this whole thing is, you can't tell how you're going to feel from one day to another. Thank goodness for the forum, as from reading your posts I know this is not unusual behaviour. (I think)!!

 Don't you think you should change your location now as you are here:nice1

Glad to hear all is ok to a degree. It does get a little easier even though you do think "jeeze is this right what we have done". I still think on 18 months down the line was this the right thing to do, but when i see my girls faces and see how happy they are i know deep down that this is what we are here for.

Welcome Nettie, take stock of your situation, now you are free of shackles like you were, the world is your oyster. But I totally know what you mean about your situation.

Stick with it, you'll be fine.

Was going to look at house today but guess what...our new car wouldn't start! Now waiting for Holden mechanic to turn up and sort out. Hope they're not like English workers, we could have a wasted day on our hands!;)

Well done on your move. I was thinking about when our turn comes in October. The thought of it makes me quite nervous...finding the job, the house getting the work visa....
