Didn't see it posted elsewhere... interest rates went up today. Story on how it is expected to affect house prices, mortgage rates and the NZD exchange rate online at radionz (http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/latest/200704261543/ocr_rise_seen_as_damaging_for_exports,_property). Basically mortgage rates up, house prices possibly down over the winter and the exchange rate worse for those coming over -- of course, the housing market and exchange info are just projections based on today's news of a higher official cash rate, so not certain.
