Hi folks,

Just a quick update on my visit to Auckland this week. Haven't had time to post anything before now, but I'll drop a quick note now and do something a little more detailed when I get back to the UK and it has all sunk in.

I had a couple of interview lined up before I got out here and agencies have set up others while I've been here. The public holiday in the middle of the week was a bit of a surprise to me (should have done my research better!) but it gave me an opportunity to do a bit of suburb-exploring.

I'm looking for IT Project Management roles and I've had interviews with:
Telecom (twice)
EDS (twice)
Voco
Optimation
Simpl
Orion (later today)
Fronde (later today)

I've also met with the following agencies:
Hudson
Potentia
RecruitIT

It's looking like I may get 3 offers (Telecom, EDS and Simpl) so I could have some decision-making to do!

It has been a hectic week - thank God for the hotel gym and pool which has helped me de-stress. The amazing weather has also kept my spirits up.

Right, time to drag the suit on for another (hopefully final) visit to Telecom to meet with one of their programme managers.

So, now I'm back. Two definite offers (Telecom in Auckland, EDS in Wellington) plus things are still moving along with Simpl and Fronde. Kicking off the police checks today or tomorrow, but things may be slightly complicated as we lived in Australia for 2 years within the last 10, so we need to get checks done there too.

Lots more thinking and planning to be done!

Sounds like a successful recce. Good luck with the offers, police checks should be a formality, unless you have been a naughty boy but get them in asap as they are taking very close to 40 days in Uk at moment.
You could maybe attach a note saying that you need an urgent response and why. This may speed things up a bit.
