OK, here is what I have done so far. I still have a stack of receipts to do, so bear with me. Hope it helps those still in the UK as I find the online supermarkets a bit expensive to make comparisons.:)

Oh, I have to add as well that all the prices are the normal prices in the shops and don't include "specials" of which Woolworths has many and you can sometimes make quite good savings.

Bravo Nic, fantastic resource for would-be migrants and those of us wishing to compare places to shop. As I shop at paknsave, shall I keep my receipts and then let you know some of the gaps so you can fill those in? Or will that be a bit much? Shopping day here is Monday.

Nicola thank you so much!

This is really great - sadly I went straight to see how much Tip Top ice cream and two-min noodles are (I must have still been in student mode when I left NZ!)

Third on the list was alcohol ... not wanting to encourage you into a drinking habit, but if you or anyone else had a few prices of spirits, I'd been keen to know *hic* (although I may just start a seperate thread for that query!)

Thank you again - it's so easy to navigate and will be such a comprehensive list. Now just have to wait until it lets me give you more rep points!

I intend to update this as and when I have time. I do have a lot left to go on there and in time I will be finding the prices to compare with the other 2 shops (only ones near enough for me to shop in) but if like Lupin you have the comparisons already then please let me have them and I will add them on. Maybe a couple of other people, with the time, could have access to the spreadsheet and can update it directly?

Great resource for those of us who have not yet made the move - it gives us the opportunity to see how much to budget for various items - this is one of the biggest questions most potential immigrants seem to want to know the answer to. Just one request -could you put the quantities on some items? Especially the alcohol as you quote a price for cans of beer/lager but not how many cans? Also on dog food - what size bags/tins?

Thanks for putting in all the hard work :nice1

Hi Nicola,
What about Countdown? Is there on near you? I find it cheaper than Woolworths, I think, without actually having done a written down comparison. I know it's the same group as Woolworths but it does feel cheaper...

Hmmmm... fish fingers? We don’t eat fish but I will look at some when I do my next shop. :)

I will we adding more and I will add the quantities to it as and when I can. This is definitely a work in progress so bear with me. ;)
