Hi all. Myself and my family (partner & 2 kids) have been here for 3 months. Everything is going well so far, few wobbly days but, all in all, we seem to be settling OK. Hoping to get in touch with others in the Howick/Botany/Pakuranga area. :)

Hello....

Glad you are settling OK, despite the wobbly days, and we all get those!

What do you both do work wise? How old are the kiddies? We are in Pakuranga, whereabouts are you?

Nosey aint I???

Oh, and dont know if you have seen the thread, but there is a girls night coming up, 19th May, and its looking like Sylvia Park for the location at present.

Hi Sal, thanks for replying. He (partner) is working in a management position, I havent got as far as sending my CV off yet- all in good time! I used to work in commercial banking, so hopefully wont be too difficult to get work when the time is right. We have a son, aged 8, and a daughter aged 6. My daughter has settled into school really well, my son is finding it a bit harder, but he is getting there slowly too. We are renting in Bucklands Beach- its great here. Hopefully we will buy fairly close by- house prices are expensive here though :(

The Sylvia Park night sounds good- when/where will that be?

How long have you been here, how old are your kids? Are you happy? :)

Hi Katmat,
We live in Bucklands Beach too. Our kids are 16, 11 and 9 (18 year old in UK :() We're now both working full time so can't do weekday coffee, but if you want to come to Girlie Night at Sylvia Park with me, PM me and we can organise it. And I daresay, pick up Sal too?

Gil beat me to it with the link for the girls night... :)

We just have the one little boy, 17 months, so I am fully occupied with him at the moment, hubby is in IT.

Good luck with the house hunt, it is a pricey area alright!

If you fancy a coffee one day, drop me a PM.

Hi Gil, thanks for the link- is that a Japanese restaurant? Never eaten Japenese before, but I'd be willing to try it! The night out sounds good, so yes, count me in. How have your kids settled into school? I'm sure they are missing their friends. It must be really hard for you with your 18 year old not here with you. My partner has a 15 year old girl from his first marriage who lives in England with her mum- its hard for him.

Hi Sal, yep, I'm sure your hands are full with a 17 month old! Have you managed to meet many people through mums& toddlers groups, etc?
