HI evreyone,

Just back from NZ yesterday! My partner had a sucessful interveiw. They have offered my partner casual hours for when we are ready to arrive. Which will lead to a perment posistion once we have decided which area around Auckland we want to be in.

So we want to get to NZ in the next few months, Whats the best way???

Looking at the Immigration website for a work permit the company has to be an accredited employer, which it isnt as yet and the occupaction isnt on the LTSSL.
We persume will we also need an official letter from the empolyer of the offer of employment? Will immigartion ask for anything else aswell?

We have also looked at the WHV which seems a quick way to get there but how would we apply for PR from a WHV. As it would seem we would end up in the same position as trying to get the work permit.

Or can we do anything once were in NZ on tourist visa's?

We will be grateful for any help on this. I'm sure lots of people have been in this position - maybe its not has hard as im working it out to be. :confused:

In a nutshell, to get a work permit for an 'unskilled' job, your employer will have to prove that they have advertised the vacancy and not been able to get a NZ'er to fill it. There is a form they have to fill in and you will be asked to provide a contract of employment... so I'd guess you will need the permanent position rather than casual hours.

Not sure what a WHV is ..

The easiest route for you might be to go on Tourist Visas and secure work visas whilst you are there .. as long as your employer is willing to jump through the immigration hoops.

Plenty of people have gone down this route .. it is do'able!

All that Willowhouse is saying is correct, but the form he talks about is NZIS 1113. The employer needs to fill it out, along with producing your official letter of the offer and contract.

We have the WHV as a back up in case we don't get PR in time, we may use the work permit route however, if a job offer comes along, depends on the circumstances.

I dont think you can get around the credited employer problem which ever way you do it, at least with a whv you have 2 years to sort it out while your in the country.

You can come over on a WHV (if you fulfill the criteria for one) and work in any job that is not permanent. Your potential employer could give you a one year contract in this case.
If you apply for a work visa and permit - you will need the employer to submit the NZIS 1113 (employer supplementary form) along with the NZIS 1112, which is your application. An employer doesn't have to be on an accredited employer list if you do this, as the form they complete has a section to explain why they are recruiting someone other than a Kiwi for the role (specialist skills etc).

Once in NZ and working, you can then apply for PR and claim the additional 50 points as you described above on your EOI.
