I've just received an e-mail saying my documents and a letter are on their way back and that I have a named evaluation officer (or something like that) with her e-mail address. Something may be happening...:nice1

Great news lockstock.
We got an email this morning from nzqa as well. They couldn't fax the uni so have written a letter and posted it (fast post) but have also scanned and e mailed the letter. We got our docs back last week so are now just waiting for uni to respond then its on the the teachers council (form completed just needs signing and dating)

I've already sent everything off to the Teachers' Council - everything except the NZQA number which is all they need to complete. The theory is that by the time they have checked out all my other stuff all they will be waiting on is the number thereby saving time. The annoying thing is that there are several jobs advertised which I would normally apply for but can't because of start dates and lack of rubber stamped documents. Then there's the period of notice I have to give here in the UK. Unless anything happens between now and the end of May, I'm stuck here until Christmas.

We are the same with notice period but OH will be giving notice before half term whatever happens. She is so fed up with things at the moment.

I need to contact NZQA...I sent my docs and application to them just over two months ago...have heard nothing. My teachers council application is also already filed...but they are awaiting NZQA...it's so frustrating. This week alone, over 250 new jobs appeared in the ed gazette online...yet, I can't apply for anything because I have no way of knowing how long NZQA will drag on...it is frustrating!

On the positive side: if you unfortunately can't make the jump until Christmas, then you will arrive such that you start at the beginning of a new school year.

This is true - but I can't risk resigning without the green light for NZ and everything sorted and ready to go. And I was secretly hoping for a month or two 'holiday' before going back to the front line.;)

The other advantage of christmas is that you get paid for the summer hols. I have tried pursuading OH to leave it till christmas, especially with the delays at the moment but I am expecting to be given final notice (3 months next wednesday) so I will need to find another job as a short term measure through autumn if we don't go in September.

I just talked to someone at NZQA yesterday, and she was great! I asked the first person who answered if I could just go over my understanding of the full assessment, and she transfered me to a very helpful lady who was happy to go through it all with me. It turns out I've made several errors, so it was worth the call, and she gave me her direct email, so I can contact her with any more questions.
