I know this has been answered already on the forum but I can't find the answer using search - perhaps someone can point me to the right thread or help me out. I know I have to pay to submit my EOI but what other fees do I have to pay to get PR apart from medicals and police checks? What is the migrant levy and is this per person including children or per application?
Thanks for your help:)

you pay about £530 when you apply for residence (submit your ITA) and then migrant levy is about £100 per person up to a max of about £400 for a family.

So for a family of 4 I would pay about £1400 for EOI. ITA & Migrant Levy. More than what I thought.:(

the EOI is only about £110? ITA is £530 and migrant levy £400 - total approx £1040.

Thanks for that Trigirl. Still seems a load of money on top of medicals and police checks. But it must be worth it in the end or so many of you wouldn't have done it;)
Where about in Beds were you originally from?

Hi there
we submitted our ITA in March and to date costs are:
EOI £100
NZ Midwifery registration £340
Medicals - £515 for 3
ITA £525
Migrant level £315 (not yet paid)
Police checks (UK and abroad) £60
Total to date £1855. It's like opening a vein and haemorrhaging money.....
But it'll be worth it, I hope. At the end of the day it's inly money!:nice1

That's exactly what it seems to be like!
We had the added pleasure of having documents translated (££s), translation certified (££s), signatures notarised by notary public (£££s). When the notary public said we might need to get her verification apostilled (for even more ££s) I was about ready to call the whole things off. Pay to have the verification verified? Honestly!
Oh, I do so hope it is worth it! I am really reluctant to go anyway (but have agreed to make homesick Kiwi partner feel better), so having to pay all this wasn't exactly easy...

Hmmm..............I wonder how NZIS works out the costs?
It seems to be different for everyone.
We paid £110 for EOI, about £530 for ITA and £235 each (my OH and me) for migrant levy. Then we had medicals and police checks on top of that. Our medicals were quite costly as NZIS wanted more detail as my OH has epilepsy so he had to get a private consultation and letter to make it snappy.

they are charged in dollars so the £ amount depends on the exchange rate at the time. so small differences are to be expected. however £235 EACH seems an awful lot for the migrant levy?
migrant levy is $300 per person to a max of $1200 http://glossary.immigration.govt.nz/migrantlevy.htm

One tip I found by accident is that if you get your copies made and certified by New Zealand herself, in our case at the embassy, then they don't charge you (if it's for a NZ visa application). Bargain. The British embassy were all set to charge us 20 quid a pop or something.

So instead of paying a solicitor to notorise our documents if we go to New Zealand house they will do it free of charge? Sounds worth the train fare.

Yes, you take in your originals and copies and when you submit your application they 'sight' the originals and give them back to you. :nice1
