Just thought of someone might be interesting, it held at christchurch, wellington and auckland.
Christchurch's is held on 18th and 19th August 2007 (9am to 5pm)
http://www.parentandchildshow.co.nz
From pregnancy to primary school. Adult $10 and under 12s free.
Got it from the bounty pack from www.bounty.co.nz for mum to be, same to what you get in UK's bounty pack (free magazine (NZ Woman's weekly) inc :nice1 ) Just give your name, address and details of your midwife, they will post it to you.

I have been to the one in Auckland twice now, and have a couple of survival tips for you!
Go early, and if you can take a friend with you then do, cos you can queue up for double the freebies (ooops sorry promotional samples!;) ) Unless your kids are desperate to see the entertainment then leave them at home if poss, it gets really busy, and easy to lose them, and taking a buggy is similarly a bit of a nightmare (I did this year with a stroller, and for the first hour it was OK, after that :( ), I think from the first one I had enough nappy samples to last a 2/3 days at least!
The Auckland one was mainly geared towards folks who were pregnant, or who had very young children, I did not get as much out of it the second time round, ie I did not need free breast pads anymore, or nipple cream! :p )
Take a back pack, you get given loads of carrier bags, shove them in all your back pack and explore them when you get home.
If you know you want a certain item, check the price before you go, some folks have some really good special deals, others just say they do, and you find you could have got it for the same (or even worse less!) somewhere else.
Oh, and have fun!
Of course the christchurch one will be smaller than the Auckland one, so may be quieter (you can hope!)

Thanks for tips, jubjub as i will be 36weeks by then
If I do go, I hope my OH will come with me, so he can take children to entertainment sections and leave me alone!
Freebies will come very handy for me with newborn few weeks later :nice1

JUst realised I forgot a top tip, if you have the facilites, get a sheet of small address labels printed with your name, address, contact phone no and email address on them, there are sooo many competitions to enter, you just slap on a sticker and maybe have to a couple of bits by hand after that.
Auckland were doing it at the door last year to $2, well worth it to save writers cramp!

ITake a back pack, you get given loads of carrier bags, shove them in all your back pack and explore them when you get home.
Or maybe a pull-along shopping trolley or wheeled luggage!!! Not that I've been to a parent & child one, but I will definitely take something like that along if I ever go to another travel show! Even though we both had backpacks, it was still knackering lugging around those brochures.
