Thought it time to introduce ourselves!
We are a family with 2 children, looking to move to NZ. My wife has a job offer in Tauranga, and our EOI has been selected from the pool.
We are off to Tauranga at the end of May for a quick visit. Would love some suggestion of things to do while we are over there. A visit to Rotorua has been planned, as has a trawl of local estate agents to get a better feel for properties on offer (rental and purchase).
Other than that, all suggestions welcome!
And I will probably be bugging you all with further questions as the immigration process takes its course.
:cheers ,

Just drive along Bay of Plenty to Whakatane, you will sson see places you want to stop and explore. Go onto Opotiki then south and if you want to see the most fantastci piece of native bush, head for Hukutaia Domain RR, sign posted but only just. we found it by chance and were bowled over by it, as were our kids. Bird song, numerous labelled speicies and so dense you expect a dinosaur to come out at you any minute!
Enjoy!!

Welcome to the forum! Not been here too long, there is so much to do and see you will be spoilt for choice. Don't expect to go swimming though, it is getting a tad chilly for that :laugh (But when has the cold ever stopped us daft Brits from going in to the sea?)
Good luck
Steve

Wecome to our world Ant. Take on board the suggestions folk pop on here and i'm sure your reccie will turn out to be an enjoyable one. As Steve says though, it is a tad chilly now for a dip, but we are still encountering blue skies and sun. In fact Autumns not to bad at the mo.

Thanks for all the great replies!
Carey - I have found Hukutaia Domain in my Touring Atlas, and may well check it out. Sounds great.
As for too chilly for a dip - the average sea temperature in winter in NZ looks positively bath-like compared to North Wales in the summer. Will probably stick to the hot pools, though - they look great!
Counting off the days till the 20th...
