Guys

If you get a job offer and you use it as points towards your EOI and you are successful and take the job, how long do you have to stay in the position for it still to count for PR? I've heard it's 3 months but would like some confirmation.

Also does anyone know how closely related to your qualifications does your job offer need to be? for example my qualifications are in aircraft engineering maintenance, would an offer of employment in any form of engineering count?

Hi Andy and WELCOME to the forum.

Yes, it is 3 months for your PR, but as far as your engineering question goes, I'm sorry, I don't know for sure, but I would think that as long as you are qualified for the position and that the NZ employer can prove that he had advertised it unsuccessfully then it should be OK.
