We will be needing a temporary place to live while we look for a more permanent place, for about 3 weeks starting August 21.

Ideally we would like to find a furnished cottage in a rural setting, somewhere around Rotorua or in the direction of Te Puke (the other lake areas are also an option).

I have been looking at all of the real estate and holiday home sites, but I was wondering if anyone here might know of something that we would not find via the on-line channels.

I think your best bet would be a furnished holiday bach. At that time of year owners may well strike a good deal as it's mid winter and no school holidays here.

Not sure if you'll pick up anything not via the web, we've found all the bachs we've stayed in on line, find it much easier than ringing around.
