Hi folks,
I've got a job offer from an employer who is accredited by Immigration. That takes me to 165 points so we should be off and running. Has anyone else been down this route? If so, how long does it take to get to "blue stickers" stage? I've been told (by the employer) that the application should be fast-tracked and that the longest item is likely to be the police checks. We've kicked these off already, so I was trying to get an idea of how long to expect before I'm ready to roll. I'm thinking about booking flights before the prices start to rise (as I get closer to departure date).
Any advice from you oh-so-helpful lot? :)
Cheers,
Martin

ours only took a few weeks from job offer to PR. we had police checks and medical allready done. once they have all thios it should only be about 4 weeks. (was for us anyway)
good luck

It depends on how fast they're turning things around at the mo - we got PR within 5 working days of sending our final application in but that is pretty fast & the fact that our Case officer was going overseas for a 5 week holiday at the end of that week might have had some bearing on it...

Martin, have you submitted your EOI yet? I see you mention you now qualify for 165 points, which makes me assume you haven't done this yet?
Submit your EOI asap. You should then get your ITA within a very short period of time (10 days?). Then you have to "populate" it - i.e. get all the supporting documentation for what you claimed in your EOI. This includes unabridged birth and marraige certificates, etc. Once you send all that in, it could be anywhere from 4 weeks to 3 months before you get your PR.

5 weeks from submitting EOI to blue stickers. But I was very organised and returned ITA the day after it arrived with all paperwork.

EOI is in and has been for a while. Originally I claimed 130 points so it got picked out of the pool pretty quickly. However, they then docked me 15 points because my degree (Electronic Engineering) doesn't match my experience (IT Project Management). So it's currently sitting in the pool until I provide my evidence of job offer which will notch it up to 165 points.

It took them a full three months to process my application with a job offer. They kinda sat on a couple of queries they had, which lost us a month, so had we not had that problem, two months from submitting my ITA pack.

Hi Martin,
I had exactly the same problem with my degree and IT project management. I intend to head out to NZ once my contract finishes to find a job then apply for PR. Doing it this way seems much quicker and simpler. If you don't find a job then you don't stay - better than getting there and being unemployed.
Did you get your job offer while in the UK or did you go to NZ for interviews? How long did it take you to find work?
Good luck with your PR.

I had a few telephone interviews in the UK but they didn't really go anywhere. Everyone told me I needed to get out there so I booked a one-week trip to Auckland. I managed to line up a couple of interviews before I got there and had been in touch with a few agencies who set up several more while I was there. I left New Zealand after a week with 2 offers in the bag and got a third after I arrived back in the UK. I've accepted one of those offers so everything is now moving ahead. Official start date is 2nd July (immigration permitting)!
Cheers,
Martin
