I went to NZIS in London today to sort out a 'points issue'.
Anyway I got repointed and will likely lose 15 points :(

BUT while I was there the nzis advisor said that the number of points required for automatic acceptance was going to be dropped 'soon' to 115 points meaning I'd automatically get selected again.

Begin speculations now ;)

That's a useful bit of inside info. Wonder when that will start.

That would be good news, or would it? got to get the calculators out again, can't remember what I worked out last time without a job offer. There are so many different calculations going round in my head at the moment, all dependant on different things.

Oh, that would be handy. Just submitted with 115.

Any ideas when or other confirmations?
Will they change how points are allocated?
Oh no, so many more questions again...

Know that feeling! I did a new one based on this thread and found (according to my calculations) that unless you have a job offer, score points for skills shortages, or have studied or worked in NZ, it's impossible to get 140 anyway...

wow 115 ! job offer was the key for us - without it would have only 110 anyway (but we are old duffers) - nz probably want more under 40s - it would appear there are lots of jobs for professionals in auckland (cant comment on anywhere else) but difficult to get one when in uk so perhaps they are trying to make it a bit easier to help fill positions ?
