Hi All

We were selected in the last draw, but after the posts about delay being 6-9 months, I would be in the next age band. Does anyone know if NZIS will drop my points as a result, or will they use age on application of EOI?

cheers

alex

I think they take the age when the application was submitted.

Hi Alex,

I happened to come across this old post. We are in a similar situation and asked our consultant the same question. She answered that the date you apply for residence is the date that counts, and thus the number of points is awarded you have on that day.
In our case we will loose 10 points if our application for residence is not submitted before March 2005. And we haven't even submitted our EOI yet, as we still have do our IELTS test.
Still, I find it a bit strange, the idea that you can get an ITA and still have points deducted. I wonder what happens if you get selected with 100 and then end up with 90???

Hiya Evelien

I will lose 5 points on Jan 4. If (Big IF???), they agree my points then I will still be OK on 100. If they dispute anything, I guess I am out the band. Only chance then is go over, get a job on WTR and re-apply

thanks for the post

cheers and good luck

Hi everyone,

I was also told the same as well. We were selected on 110 when the passmark was at 100. We loose points in Feb 05 but will still be within the 100 points. The points are recomputed on the submission of your ITA before it is processed.

But here's a question. What if the passmark then were to increase to say 120 or beyond what you qualify? Which passmark does NZIS use to see if you qualify? The points when you were selected or at the point when your ITA goes in?

Has anyone experienced this before?

Cheers,
