Well, if NZ doesn't want us, I guess I'll find myself wandering the earth for a bit...I handed in my resignation four days ago. :raebanana

It had weighed on me heavily for a while because as a teacher of honors classes, I know it will be difficult to find a replacement where I live. I couldn't tell them sooner because I had a (minor) health concern to get checked out, and once I had the "all's-clear" on that, I told my department chair and principal the news about our impending move.

What was so funny is that my principal asked me immediately, "Where are you going?" and I know he was expecting me to say the neighboring county school district (that happens a lot here because they pay more), but when I said, "New Zealand," he looked at me like I had just told him I had been abducted by aliens overnight and released at dawn.:laugh

It was hilarious.

Now everyone we wanted to tell has been told (OH turned in his notice two weeks ago). Family is getting used to it, too, which makes me feel hugely relieved.

Now if NZQA would cough up a full assessment report and get it off to NZIS for visa approval, I'd really feel light light light. :yes

Hey 'good on ya' for getting that one over with. I was dreading my "it's not you, it's me" discussion for weeks. Phiew. Things will get simpler for you, eventually! :nice1

Great news!! I just received an email from my NZQA case worker, and she said that my assessment report is almost complete and should be in the mail by Friday. Yipeeee!!

Congrats on both bits of news, hope the assessment has the results that you need. OH finally wrote her resignation letter yesterday but hasn't given it in yet.
