Hi,

i'm new to the forum and this is my 1st post.

My Oh and myself are looking at moving to NZ, I'm an experienced(17 years) production/operations manager who has worked in food, pharmacutecals and supply chain, my good lady is an NVQ L3 registered childminder who is also accredited and supplies early years education places.

How does our skills set match with what is needed or avialble in NZ?

Thanks

Hi Macca
I was a production manager in Doncaster for 15 years and had no problem getting pr and coming out here. My first job in NZ was as a production manager for a printing company on a good wage. my second job was managing a large diy store on a better wage ,third job managing a glazing company with more money and a company car and now i,m back with a diy store,no car yet but good money and very good prospects. I,d say you should have no problem. My wife is an admin worker and she is happy with the first job she took. Good luck with the process.
cardy:yes :nice1

How did you find work, did you go via an employment agy before you went or find a job once you were out there.

hi Macca
i registered with some employment agencies but they were rubbish!!
i applied for loads of jobs off seek and told them all when i was arriving .I got loads of interviews from doing that and when i came on a reccie by myself for 2 weeks i was offered a job in 2 days!!! turned it down cos i saw how easy it was and looked for something better with wages more like the uk. when i came back for good with the family i had 3 job offers in 2 weeks and first one i took was $60,000 plus bonuses. i found seek excellent. But i also just did web searches for companies that made similar stuff to my firm in the uk and just e mailed them .Cheers Cardy:cheers
