Hi All,
Just a quick one. I have interviews in Chch and Welly lined up. Both IT positions.
I was wondering what usual office dress is for these cities? There's nothing worse than being overdressed or underdressed for the occasion.
I was wondering if it was full suit and tie or trouser / shirt tie? or does it depend on the organisation? in which case suit to be on the safe side.
Cheers,
-M

Hubby (Chch) erred on the side of suit, it hasn't been out of the wardrobe since but I think he'd have preferred to be overdressed than under.
I personally think it's better to go with a suit for office-based jobs. :yes

Congrats on the interviews matt, and sending positive vibes to you. Are you out in NZ at the moment?

You can never be 'overdressed' during a job interview - unless you go in your black tie.

Definitely a suit - my workplace is jeans and a t-shirt casual, but I suited up for the interview, and would expect the same from someone I was interviewing.

It seems they liked my CV so much they felt they had to interview me ;)
Thanks for the vibes , it's a big step, and getting a job would be the clincher and would make the transition sooo much easier.
There have to be lots of openings for a security sysadmin who'll do sysadmin / helpdesk at a pinch.
I'm in NZ 17/9/2007 to 24/9/2007 officially on holiday but doing a few interviews on the side.
Initially I'll be in Welly for the Monday and Tuesday then Chch for the weds - friday.
Suit and cufflinks it is then.

Clare wore her lucky red golf trousers for her pre-interview informative chat last night, must have worked as she has full blown interview next Thursday, and is a formality cos she's a got the job :raebanana :raebanana
