Trying desperately to do my first trade with xe.com .. have done the trade and need to send the money via internet banking ..

I am asked by my bank to fill in the 'Account Name' and I have not been given one by xe.com Aaargh!! What did you put in this space? Have tried to phone xe.com but it's not opening time over there. I NEED to do this NOW, tearing hair out as we speak ....

Sorry - can't help too much, as I've always used HIFX. Are you supposed to get any sort of confirmation from XE ?. - I always got a confirmation e-mail from HIFX that told me all the account information/name that I needed for the onward payment. (if it helps, I also found that HIFX, "we must receive the money in three working days", to be more laid back in practice and a day here or there never worried them, so I'm sure it won't matter if you wait until they are open and you can talk to them in person.

Good luck! - save some of that hair, you never know what else you might need to pull it out for later on...... :laugh

They do give you a printout of all the info you need, but guess what? No Account Name!

I'm desperate to send the money because I need to:

a. Have a drink of wine
b. Go to bed

And to top it off I can't wait until tomorrow as I have to send money today tomorrow and Thursday to get it here in time for a property deal which I stupidly set a deadline on (not knowing that I had a 'daily limit' imposed by my bank) Rrrsmmmfrrsmmm!!!

Someone else had suggested just typing in xe.com .. which makes perfect sense, but I have experienced banks in the workplace who will do anything to NOT get your money to it's destination as it earns them money the longer it is in transit and so I don't want to give them any excuse!!

Anyway, it's almost too late, the wine is flowing!

Sorry this is probably too late, but I use XE quite a bit and don't quite understand your question. You've done the trade, but are now using the "pay anyone" from your NZ bank to transfer the funds to XE's Custom House account? My bank (Westpac) doesn't ask for an "Account Name" other than what I call the account for my own reference so I know which account I'm transferring too. The important thing is to put the correct account number and also the reference number that XE gave you for that specific trade. Might actually be a question for your NZ bank.

I've used XE trade quite a bit and find them really good - when I've done transfers from my UK bank to them (and they've sold me NZ$'s straight into my Westpac account) the account name was "Custom House Ltd" with their Bank of America account details.

Alternatively just call back when they're open (something like 9pm-9am NZ time?) - you have 3 days to initiate the transfer so I wouldn't worry.

I had to send some money yesterday because of my daily sending limit (see earlier post) .. but I sent it with the account name "xe / custom house" .. fingers crossed eh!

I have to send some more today so I'll send it to "Custom House Ltd" .. thanks for taking the time to reply.

Yes, I've checked with them and it is Custom House Ltd, and they also told me you should have a team of personal advisors to contact that work in shifts around the clock, so you should always be able to contact them by phone or email. Hope all is going smoothly for you now?

Personal advisors? Pooh! Phoned the Toll-free NZ number - not in use .. Australian number - not in use .. USA number - not answering, out of office.

Have now sent 2 lots of money, the first with xe / custom house as account name .. the second correctly addressed to Custom House Ltd .. I will watch with baited breath!
