Hello,
I am writing this on behalf of my dear friend, (who does not have a computer.)

We are looking for a private assistant for her 10-year-old daughter who has very mild autism. The route through the public system has not been satisfactory. She is hoping to find someone who will work with her for 2-6 hours a week.

Someone retired, or looking for part-time work, with some background in this area would be appropriate. Not neccessary to be a NZ qualified or trained..

You might want to post your thread to the folder of "finding a job in NZ". Because it seems many forum members are checking that folder on finding a job, since lately it has been quite a few thread in regards of helping other members getting a job. It could be someone that is looking for a part time job. Maybe...just my .2
