More questions to do with my cats. Are the following products available in New Zealand: World's Best Cat Litter and Purina Pro Plan cat food?

I'm just wondering if I will be able to use the same products in New Zealand as I do now or whether I should start getting my cats used to different products before we go.

If they are available, are they hideously expensive? (If they are then I might have to get the cats used to something else anyway....)

Hi There i have seen purina but dont know the price will have a look
we buy hills science diet for ours a 4lb bag is $23 and we have a loyalty card at the vets so when we have bought 7 we get one free. we just buy the cheepy cat litter . we have also found the vets a lot cheaper here to i had to take one of the cats for an injection as she had been bitten and got an infection and tablets plus injection only cost $45 . in england it used to cost £45 to see the vet before he did anything

Cheers cat lover cardy:D

Thanks for the info! $23 for a 4 lb bag sounds good value (of course, I am still in pound mode, so it might not seem so good when I am in NZ!)

I hadn't thought about getting food from the vet - I will try to find out details of a vet where we are moving to and find out what they sell and go from there.

Thanks again.

Purina is definitely around in supermarkets etc, although not sure if it is right variety. Might be worth looking at some of the online supermarket pages, but also as Cardy says, lots of vets/petshops sell stuff not available in the supermarkets. Our cat only eats Royal Canin, but we managed to track down a few places that do it.

As for cat litter, our cat was used to Catsan in the UK, which I couldn't find here, and I thought some of the others were very expensive (although they claim to last a month - not entirely convinced). After a little bit of trial and error, the thing we found that was closest to what the cat was used to was in Warehouse (think matalan but for everything!), and is $7 for a big bag that lasts her a couple of weeks.

Oh thank you Cardy, that's so kind of you. $48 for 8 lb sounds VERY expensive -I think my cats will be eating different food in NZ!

We always fed our cats on Purina in the UK so it was a relief for them when we discovered Purina One over here. In the supermarket a 1.5Kg bag will cost about $16.

Unfortunately you don't seem to get the variety of flavours. It's Salmon or Chicken I'm afraid. Our cats go mad for 'Friskies' Purina cat treats. Cats have never purred so loudly!

Good to know Hill's Science Diet is available - pricier than I'm used to, but then I remembered that it includes tax already. $15.99 CAD/ 4lbs only sounds better until I add 14% :p

Our cats love World's Best Cat Litter, and we went through half a dozen alternatives before we settled on it. I don't know what we'll do without it. I took a look at WBCL's website and they have no listing for NZ. Does anyone know if NZ has other corn- or wheat-based cat litter available?
