Hiya

We're off on our recce on Thursday :eek: Were'd the time go .. ?
Of course, I have nothing better to do... :no - I've been tallying the cost and it's all come in well under budget.... so far.
For those of you who might be interested in an off-peak motorhome holiday / recce, here are our costs:
We are 2 adults + 3 children (10, 8 & 1)

Travel Insurance: £62
Return NZ flights: £2300
Motorhome: £874 19 day rental
Ferry: £135
Christchurch - Auck flight : £ 257

Aprox Costs:
Holiday park fees, based on 18 nights: £270
Fuel (don't think I've worked this out right !?!) : £ 180

Total: £ 4078 Budget was £5k including spending money :nice1

Ferry: £135

Is that taking the motorhome over, or dropping of one side and picking up the other (some of the bigger firms let you do that with cars anyway).

Unfortunately you won't be able to take advantage of the Club Class lounge as children under 15 aren't allowed. I think it's excellent value at $15 extra - free drinks, snacks, and on the ferry television with the film that's showing in the cinema (or it was the last time I took it!).

That's taking the motorhome accross on the ferry... but If we'd researched the trip properly - I believe a few [motorhome rental] firms will give you a free ferry crossing if you do it from Picton to Wellington.

hmmm Club Class - we're a few years away from that one ;o)

We're flying with air new zealand via Hong Kong... OH has just told me seats are still a similar price to our adult fair = £618 return I think...
He says it's the time of year.
Hope this helps... had a look at a poll in the forum somewhere ... ANZ are
2nd to Singapore Airlines.... yeh !
