i've just had and e-mail from my NZQA officer saying the paperwork is done and will be signed off today - in the post as soon as - and she'll take the copy to the Teacher's Council down the road herself tomorrow! How's that for service?:clap :clap One more step...

We finally got our letter from NZQA today, 14 days after we had an e mail from them to say it was all completed and the letter was ready for posting. As for the teachers council, we had an e mail from them today saying that thay had not yet got a copy of the assessment from nzqa.
Our Teacher Council form is completed and will be sent tomorrow, with another lot of money. Just jobs and permits to go........

and the Police Check came through today too...delivered to the wrong address along with my new visa card pin.:roll . Now I need to track down my trusty JP friend to get the certified copy off the the TC. At last things seem to be moving. Can't wait to drop down the EOI and fill in the numbers on the form. Maybe that will jog someone's memory and see where we stand on the ITA.

And if you could all wish very very hard that the foal due last week will arrive tonight so I can get some sleep I'd be very grateful. Foal watch every hour is not good for stress levels but he/she will be our last in the UK so he/she had better be a good one. A colt from this mare could mean business class to NZ!

I have no hair left. I couldn't believe how long it took, rushing home every day to check the post, but at least we are now on to the next high on the rollercoaster.:roll

My NZQA officer said my assessment was on her desk and would be in the mail by Friday of last week...I've heard nothing and seen nothing...patience patience!!

The Teachers Council said my application is poised and waiting...all they need to complete it is NZQA......which I paid to fast track, which was nearly 3 months ago!

Sorry for jumping in with a question. Can you apply to the Teachers council for registration and NZQA at the same time then? I was under the impression I needed to complete the NZQA first. If not I'll get them in the post together - might save me some time.

We have done them separate and waited for the nzqa to arrive before sending the teachers council but others have sent to teachers council without the nzqa. It will certainly get things moving quicker. The only problem I can see is that you must pay $120 to Teachers council and this is not refundable, so if you have any concerns about your nzqa it may be worth waiting.
Our teachers council reg form went off today.

I sent them both together on the recommendation of the TeachNZ site. My quals were basically bog-standard Uni degree and post grad certs all re teaching. I get the impression it's the IT and technical qualifications that they need more time to get their heads around. All I did was make a note on the TC form saying the NZQA info and Police Check were applied for. It's ok to jot down explanatory notes on the form. It has halved the time for playing the waiting game. TC very good with e-mail contact too.

Can you send off to Teachers council then without the police check? When will you do it? Or have you applied and not heard back form them?

On the TC1 form it asks you to attach the police certificate, but allows you to put the date it was applied for, if you haven't got it yet. You can then send it at a later date.
