Hi there

We flew with Malaysia Air and found them to be excellent - good food, friendly service, all on time. Stayed in KL for a week enroute and loved it - the food is fantastic, especially the hawkers stalls, it's such a vibrant city and a really good introduction to Asia if it's the first time there. We stayed at the Federal hotel which was about GBP25/night, very central and good value for money - but there are hundreds of similar hotels in the city. Shopping is excellent if you are into that kinda thing. Have fun!

Ask about their free side trips to Langkawi - we stayed there for a week in the Andaman Hotel and had an excellent time. We booked through www.bridgetheworld.com

Flight was good too but Emirates have more leg room

Totally agree with all ruthyroos comments as we did almost the same trip!!!! and def go to langkawi and not penang ( a polluted tourist trap sh**thole) - btw - watch out for the storm drains running along side the pavements, they are v deep and can catch you out, especially after a few tigers -he he
