Hi
Once your EOI has been selected from the pool, how long is it before you hear anything? Do they email you or write to you? What are these preliminary checks that they do?
thanks in advance

It all depends on whether or not you have a job offer. If you've got a job offer it looks like they sort you out first. If like us there is no offer they get around to you sooner or later. We only heard today that we're going to be invited to apply (ITA) and that took about 6 (very long) weeks. Dig in and keep checking the INZ site for your status. You see it on there before you get the letters.
There, I sound like an old hand now don't I? Been there, done that. Unfortunately there always seems to be a 'what happens next?' :laugh

Congrats to you Geekpie...love the name. Yes ours took 5 weeks and if you're anything like me you will be checking your status daily. Our status changed on a Friday and we received ITA next day by recorded delivery, if in UK. Not sure where you are from. Good luck with the whole adrenalin ride of your life. I don't know what I used to do with my time.

is that 5 April you fedexing the ITA back to them? If so, why was there such a long delay between receiving it and Fedexing it back?

It took me all that time to get the medical tests done, police checks from the UK and USA, and document my work history. (I am a self employed computer consultant so it was quite a task to put together all the records.)

I got my ITA 3 weeks after I was pulled out from the poll. That is with a job offer. I drove to London from Hampshire to hand in my ITA. so that the clerk on desk could check I had everything I needed. Less time that way.
The clerk told me it could take 4 weeks min, but after speaking to my case officer he said it should only now take another 10 days.
I think it depends on who your case officer is.

it's been about 8 weeks since I was selected from the pool and I've heard nothing since. Has anybody had a longer wait than this?

I have been thinking the same, researching all sorts of stuff everyday! I've decided to cam down a bit now though because it's starting to take over my life and I'm still not even ready to submit an EOI yet lol!!:D

Welshgang - if you think it's taking over your life now, just wait until you click on the 'submit' button for your EOI and someone else takes over the controls!

I see from your thread rjadams2 - I see you said you took your ITA into the London office - can you tell me if that was the NZ embassy or what?

hi geekpie,
We have been waiting about 10 weeks for ours to change, I guess sometimes it takes a while for information to be verified. At least that's what I'm hoping!

In response to Stedall, I took my ITA pack upto to New Zealand Immigration Service, which was located at Mezzanine Floor, New Zealand House, 80 Haymarket, London.
If you plan to do the same, I suggest you get up there early as I had to wait for 1.5hrs before I got seen.

We were selected from pool on 18th July, status has changed to decision successful today, 24th July, just waiting for ITA now.
Have medicals booked for 27th July, would it speed up process if we sent ITA without medical results and forwarded them on once we receive them, or is it better to wait for results and send everything together?
