I received this email today from my Teachers Council case worker:

"Dear Christine

We acknowledge receipt of a copy of your NZQA Report dated 11 May 2007.

Your application has been passed onto the Director for consideration. I will contact you once it is returned to me.

I hope to have some news for you in the next week or so.

Kind regards"

...this is fantastic news!!

Even though NZQA had told me they hoped my application would be finished several days ago, I had heard nothing and received nothing by mail (yet). Teachers council received my final results before I did! I'll be watching the mail even harder now! :yes

Does anyone know if NZQA and Teachers Council will automatically send a copy of the assessment and registration to NZIS, or will I need to do this when I receive them?

Our ITA is up for review on or after June 1, and I'm getting nervous!

But I'm also pretty excited!!

Apparently they do - if you told them the report was needed for TC. My evaluator stated that that would happen as soon as it was rubber stamped

On the NZQA form there were tick boxes for why you were having the assessment carried out. Provided you ticked the boxes for teachers council and for immigration purposes then NZQA will send out a copy of your assessment to the relevant bods.

Congrats on finally getting some good news, I can uncross everything now.

Thanks....it's been so long since I ticked those boxes that I don't recall much about it!! I've been in zombie mode for quite a while now!

I know what you mean. I think we ticked both boxes but cannot really remember, but we did take a copy of the form before we sent it.
If the TC have already got a copy of your assessment you must have ticked that box, and I assume like us, you thought it would be better to check the immigration box then not to.

Phone NZQA daily, keep on at them. It's the only way.

Ok, the dust is settling a bit and I'm figuring things out....NZQA is a stone's throw from Teachers Council, so they hand delivered my assessment to Teachers Council, which is why they got it so fast.

NZQA said they completed my assessment 11 May, put it in the post to me 23 May and I should be getting it any day now (so much for fast track?!) :(

Teachers Council approved my registration 28 May, and that will go in the post today.

Neither TC nor NZQA submits results to NZIS, so.....

when I receive both, I have to fax a copy of each to London to join my ITA so it can be evaluated with all docs (finally) intact and express courier the originals immediately after. Whew!

Ok...stop for a breath now....

Today I got my official teachers council letter in the mail--postmarked 29 May. :nice1 Pretty fast service once they got my info from NZQA.

However, I still have not received my NZQA report in the mail. I was told it was completed 11 May and mailed 23 May (obviously the first part is true--that it was completed 11 May, as teachers council received their copy 15 May).

I'm baffled as to why I haven't received NZQA yet. It is either lost in the post or they did not mail me a copy as they say.

The last time I wrote an email to NZQA, I got a curt reply that yes, it had been mailed 23 May and it was out of their hands now. :(

Do I phone them up this time?? I really need this thing as my ITA has already been reviewed and my case officer is awaiting final documents!

Has anyone else had NZQA report taken so long to reach them after you were told it was mailed?

thanks...

Christine

CjChris-Can you tell me some more about what you teach, how long you taught, where you taught, what is your degree? And did you get full certification from the TC?
I ask because I am also a teacher and about to embark on this same odyssey.
Thanks,
Dawn

Ashby, Hi. I think you only get provisional TC reg (for three years) at first. I just had another look at my letter - certificate not arrived yet- and that's what it says.
