Well it's all come together nicely then. Good for you :)

My Father took it really badly when I told him I was going. He did'nt talk to me for about a month. My Mother left the country for the U.S and is now a US citizen so at least there's no explaining to do there.

I dont envy you Saturdays task... but its part of the moving process and has to be done, at least they have a couple of months warning to get used to the idea. Although I have just checked your old posts, and noticed that your mum is not particularly supportive of the idea.

Congratulations on the Job

Let me congratulate you on the job offer, well done:clap As for your predicament i am sorry but i can only wish you the best of luck. My OH's family and mine were all for us making the move, so i can't give you any pointers to make it easier, but as Sal says its all of the process i'm afraid.

Good luck with it.

Wow. It all seems to be coming together for you. All the best for Saturday. Just remember it's your life. My Mum always says "children are not a possession, they are just on loan until they grow up". My Mum is so wonderful, I am really going to miss her.

Our medicals are on the 5th June also. Fingers crossed for us both. We have chest xrays today. We have had two viewings so far. Out of interest, how much notice to shipping companies need?

Well done and hope everything goes well. I had a different experience telling my folks....they actively encouraged me to make the move! A bit like when my mum packed me off to the military 22 years ago; I told her I wanted to join the RAF and she had packed my case by the time I got back home!!:laugh

Seriously though, I hope your mum takes it well. A friend of mine had quite a bad time of it cos his mum took it as a personal slight and became a little selfish:( At the end of the day, its your life and you have to live it in the way that is going to make you happy and not dwell too much on how it will make everyone else feel; you may never make the move it you do. You only get one crack of the whip so to speak, so make it a good one:)

Good luck

Well done with the job and hope all goes well on Saturday - just take plenty of tissues.

Wish it was us getting ready for the move - still good things come to those who wait.
