Hi all,
I have been reading for a while and decided to introduce myself. I notice that most of you on here are from the UK, but I am sure that you went or are going throught the same anxiety that I am.
My OH and I decided last year that we wanted to emmigrate and NZ was the 1st choice as we have family there. We have a 4 year old boy and SA is not the best place to be bringing up kids...not the best place for adults either right now. I started sending out his CV and received a job offer 2 months ago for a good job in South Auckland. We have since sold our house and applied for a passport for our boy and will sort out medicals and the visa application as soon as that comes through. We have decided to apply for a work visa and not PR as I dont want there to be any delays in us leaving here and I know that our chances of getting PR are going to be much better once we have worked there for a year.
Thanks to all the guys for wonderful advice. It's so weird to know so much about a place without having been there before, but I definitely think I have fallen in love with New Zealand already. I know it wont be a bed of roses and I am not expecting it to...but I am quite sure that it will a 200% improvement on SA:yes
