So frustrated! :wah

Rigth when I thought everything was falling into place, PANIC!

My OH has been in our GP's office all day...waiting for letters of explanation on more lab results that NZIS required. What's so frustrating is that I sent my GP a copy of the request over a week ago, sent him my own letter explaining how important it is to get this info ready for us by no later than today (so we can express mail to London); my OH and daughter even went in for said tests last week... and today....they all look blankly at my OH when he shows up to pick up this information. They hadn't done a thing.

We need to get this info to London by June 1 and if we don't get the papers to FED EX by this evening it won't make it.

So, does anyone know--will NZIS accept a fax of these docs if we send originals by express courier?

Poor you Chris...it's not fair. I would suggest you email them and explain and ask them to give you a 2 week extension, or just send it in with a covering letter and hope and pray. This process really takes it all from you doesn't it? :wah

For those who don't follow the soap opera diligently, I'm the OH to whom CJChris refers.

OK.... after much anxiety, and sitting in a waiting room a really long time, ... and listening to constantly changing explainations, .... and going down the road fast... FedEx says the letter will be in the London office by noon Thursday the 31st. I aged today!!

Thank you all for your shared experience and knowledge. And thank you for the moral support.... if there was some immoral support, thanks for that, too!! :cheers

LOL - but if you have a case officer and explain the situation they are usually happy for the info to arrive a bit later. Always contact them to let them know if you having problems, they aren't ogres :)

StevieD is right, but I'm glad it's done, and you don't have to worry about that any more! :clap

Hi, we can totally feel what you are going through. We had to get a letter and more bloods done for NZIS too, we nearly didn't get it in time due to the NHS messing us around so much. Like you we had let the docs know weeks in advance and they took till literally the last possible minute to get things done, and that was only after none stop phone calls chasing them up.

We're playing the stressful waiting game too now :(

Indeed I can agree with stevieD and others above. For anyone else in a similar situation call the NZIS people, they are usually pretty understanding and it can save you (some) stress.

Warning here is that UK docs are simply useless. If they can make an @rse of it, they probably will, we had to get two additional sandard pieces of info re-done as they had simply failed to fill in the forms properly or ask for the right tests, so delays happened that were very easily avoidable.

I don't know how anyone can get around this other than factoring in an element of UK GP uselessness in any time calculations. Not really an answer I know, but as Baden Powell said, be prepared to be totally hacked off (not certain he actually mentioned being hacked off to be honest).

Great news. Good old FedEx. At least some people manage to do their jobs correctly and on time. Regards to you both and hoping the remainder of the process is kind
