OK, we are finally going to Waiheke over the holiday weekend (weather permitting). We won't be taking the car, but will be taking a robust buggy for the little one, might take the dog..... (not sure about that yet), and we would prob be up for walking about 10km.

Questions so far

1. Is it better for access to the main areas to get the ferry from Half Moon Bay or Auckland CBD? Or do they both go to the same landing spot?

2. Are any vineyards within walking distance of the ferry terminal?

Ideas, advice, tips? :nice1 :cheers

Sorry I can't help with this one - the OH went when I was in the UK :(

I did have these bookmarked for when I finally do get to go:

www.waihekenz.com

Have fun!

Cheers

Yes there are definitely vineyards within a walk of the ferry terminal. The CBD ferry takes you to Matiatia Wharf Which is more central than the ferry from Half Moon Bay, which takes you to Kennedy Point. We went to Mudbrick Vineyard and restaurant (lovely, quite pricey) which is near Matiatia Wharf. Think I've got my facts right.
