We managed to get a good deal from www.expedia.co.uk for 434GBP inclusive one way with Singapire Airlines for my hubby. No hotel stop in Singapore though and it was a late booking.

We flew with singapore air on mon 26th march 10am from manchester, straight to singapore stopped for 2hrs changed plane then straight to auckland. 2 adults, 2 children £1800, we only booked a mth before cos we were waitin on offers on the house, may get it cheaper the more notice you give them.

We've been looking at lastminute.com. If your willing to get up and go, then flights with less than two days notice go for under £500..........:exit

May i suggest before looking at prices, think how many suitcases you are taking ( unless you are going to arrive in style by business class!!) as although you can get tickets for £350-£500 one way you will rack up lots of expense on excess baggage if you go over weight, especially if you have young childeren and all the clobber that goes with them.
If you fly via LA the American luggage rules come into force and each passenger are allowed 2 upto 23 Kg, so it may be worth considering this way around as although you will pay more for the tickets, in the end the total cost will be less. Just one word of warning, the transit lounge from what i have been told is like a jail and once in you cant escape (no smoking as well  ) until your connecting flight is boarding. Maybe someone who has gone that way is able to confirm if its still like that.

Depending on who you fly with and which route you take you can have your baggage allowance increased. We flew out of Heathrow on 3 May, with Singapore Airlines, 2 x adults 2 x children and had our baggage allowance increased to 30 kg per person. I know others have had it increased to 40kg per person.
As for the cost of the flights, I think it cost us £1600 in total with no stopover just a change of plane in Singapore. We booked the flights about 3 weeks before we flew.
