Swap my L.A. home for yours in Auckland ( or only a room).
I realized that I need to find a place in Auckland as I need to be present when hunting for a job.
I am trying to swap my Calabasas home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom located about 30 minutes from L.A.
The swap would be for July-Aug which is summer time here!
If you have any ideas or thoughts about the swap please let me know!
The home is located next to the Malibu National State Park, which is great for hiking.
The home is very tidy,bright, contemporary looking, quiet in gated complex.


Amenities included:
Hardwood Flooring
Access to brand new stainless steel kitchen
Heated Pool
Jacuzzi
Sauna

Alas I can't take you up on your offer as it sounds lovely! :(

But just wanted to say what a good idea for those wanting to do a reccie and for those wanting a trip back or a holiday!

If you have no luck on here, I think there are various house swap websites. Although I've never used them myself they always seemed like a good alternative to hotels for longer trips.

I'd recommend posting it on Trademe.co.nz I haven't met a single kiwi who even knows what the site is, let alone used it. Everyone's crazy about trademe here :-)

Not sure you can post a listing to Trade Me without being in New Zealand -- has anyone been able to? I tried to sign up from CA but couldn't do it until I got to Wellington.

Suebeenz: Thank you for the advice, as sarahEDH said I can't post on Trade Me from outside of NZ. I tried to sing up but was not successful at doing so. By the way I didn't target kiwis on this forum, I was thinking more along the lines of an immigrant looking for a vacation. I know that I need a room for a month in Auckland and I though that this would be a great deal.
