I could never figure it out why british people would like to move out of UK. It seems that everybody else tries to get into UK.

Nevertheless I believe they are the most succesful group to settle in Nz. Job wise they seem to be able and get good paying jobs even before the local kiwis. I could not figure it out why but this is how it goes.

Next where South Africans and other Western Europeans.

Others don't really reach the surface......

don't think this is all entirely accurate. Its been noticable here on the forum that a lot of people from the UK are offered a lower than normal starting salary when compared to some of the kiwis.

I am wondering if you have any statistics to back up these claims? Or are you just trying to whip up a bit of a storm?:( My opinion, but I think you should be a little more careful with these sorts of statements....

This forum contains people from many countries and without any intention on your part, you may well offend some of them or at the very least, dash their hopes of ever getting in to NZ?

I too would be interested to know your nationality?

We cannot wait to leave the UK for NZ. Why do we want to leave? Not to live like kings, but to have a better quality of life in a safer environment for us and our future children.....

Just my thoughts.....:p

Ditto Liam and Rach

Would love to know where they are from. As they mention they are "professionals" I hazard a guess that English is not their first language as they have made many grammatical mistakes throughout their postings.

There are statistics in regards to length of stay in NZ by nationality, country background etc since arrival with the IS and the Stas office ...

Every case is individually tailored and everyone is responsible for their decisions.

English being first or second language is pointless to the matter, both are professionals at master levels with international recognition, not that it matters to this topic either.

The bottom line was people ex UK seem to settle easier than others.

By statistics, what exactly do you mean? Do you mean that the average income of the UK immigrant is higher than the average income of a New Zealander? That is fairly obvious, though, since they only let a certain group of people in in the first place.

And judging from this link http://www.emigratenz.org/NewZealandImmigrantOutcomes.html it isn't actually people from the UK who do best.

So I guess I'm wondering what point you are trying to make? And why do you think language skills don't matter? I think they are probably the single most important thing in general to make your move to a new country successful (unless, of course, your mothertongue is English, and you just shout a little louder to make people understand you :)), and will certainly have an effect on your income.

But I'm neither sure what you are trying to say, or even know if you are coming or going (to or from NZ, that is), so your reference to statistcis might be clearer with more background?
