Just realised with a week to go i maybe posting loads of questions! Suddenly i have so many questions and things to sort out, probably should have dealt with them earlier!

Regards authorities etc, who and how do i need to inform agencies etc here in the UK, by this i can think of:

-DVLA
-Tax and Revenue Office
-Local Health Authority / Doctor
-Bank
-Anyone else?

More concerned with fact i dont have PR, and technically may end up back in UK (but of course hope not) and wouldnt want to either get back to find i owe some tax etc or end up on an emergency code etc because they wondered what i been up to in past year etc... And wouldnt want a £1000 fine either for having incorrect address on my driving license if/when i return when they could say "you left that address in 2007, and never gave us new one"..

So essentially do i need to contact agencies and authorities and let them know i maybe out UK for 12-18mths? (dont want to say forever until i been there for while and see what happens etc)

Feels more odd, as if they all ask for a new address, can you give a NZ address? wont Revenue and DVLA laugh at a non-uk address? But if i dont have a uk address, technically my details on record will be wrong..?

Sorry prob worried over nothing, but like said wouldnt want to come back in year to work in UK and then get a wallopping fine or bill!? (though of course dont want to come back to work in uk anyhow!)

Thanks

Lee - I never intended to stay in NZ, so sort of the reverse situation you are in. As it is, I think DVLA still have my drivers licence address as somewhere in London, and I'm still registered at my old doctors surgery - who must think I'm mega healthy to have not been for a visit in over 5 years!
My British bank account statements are sent to my parents address, who just put them in a big envelope and send them to me occasionally.
Re tax - I have an accountant here who sorts all my tax matters for me. (I have a rented property in the UK, which has implications on my tax here.)

But, I think it is just natural to start worrying of all the last minute things before you leave. I forgot to cancel my car insurance until I was actually at Heathrow ready to leave. Thankfully I called them and cancelled it over the phone there and then - I'd sold the car about 2 weeks previously!

I am a bit slack with officaldom and paperwork - thankfully I don't have to worry too much about things like that anymore...
