Just aside I used to live in Farnham, teach at Farnborough Tech, small world.

When are you planning to come as it depends on weather as to where. We did Hong Kong once on the way to OZ and it was foggy most days thought we have no harbour view until it lifted. :laugh

KL is nice my OH says he used to live there in Malaysia for 3 months loved it. Depends also on what your little ones like to do etc.

Hin Munros!

We flew Singapore Ailines, had a stopover in Sentosa beach resort. Free buses into the city and lots to do there. Zoo on the doorstep too. This was the view from our hotel balcony - nice :) And it was bloomin' hot too.

Hi,
We stayed in Singapore for a few nights on route to NZ at christmas. Air singapore were good and the airport is very clean and easy to navigate. We stayed in the city for convenience as we weren't there very long and it was ok but I wouldn't stay for a longer period of time. Its very safe, clean etc but the flight there is a long one (14 hours).

On another note we stayed in the Marina Mandarin Hotel, a fantastic hotel, but they did tend to do very noisy musical performances in the lobby until around 1 pm every night. This went on after christmas in January too, the hotels layout means that the sound travels to every room and this stopped our kids (and us) from sleeping. :wah Just a thought if you have children.

The Sentosa resort looks great, we just didn't fancy the longer transfer time from the airport after a long flight.

Dubai is nice, I can recommend Jumeirah Beach Hotel. It has fantastic facilities for kids that are free. The only downside is the long flight onward to NZ, but I guess since we 're all planning on travelling to the other side of the world that's unavoidable!

Enjoy your trip.:)

Yeah, but 20 mins in a taxi wasn't too bad as Sentosa is just across the bridge from the city centre. So, very little difference.

Stevie,
Sorry, didn't realise it was that close. Friends of ours told us it took them over an hour, maybe they had a slow taxi..:)

Guess we'll be staying at Sentosa next time then.

Were there any childrens activities?

We're staying in the Sentosa in August! Yippee. Must remember not to do a StevieD and fall asleep in the sun. Don't want to be the next Brit arriving in NZ looking like a lobster.
